LPM 1254 Elvis (1956): First edition with a side open cardboard cover printed in the USA. First German label info created for
this US Army pressing on October 9, 1956. Note the PX stamp from August 1957 in the upper right corner of the back.
These export covers were printed on a thinner and more glossy paper stock than the US first editions.
The earliest 1956 edition does not have any text printed on the spine, which the 1957 has.

LPM 1254 C Elvis Presley (1956 and 1957): Ultra rare editions for US staff stationed in West Germany. The records are regular
German first pressings but the labels are trying to emulate the US RCA Victor "dog on top" trademark, which was not
allowed for RCA to use in Europe, where it belonged to His Master's Voice (HMV). Note that "Just Because"
erroneously is credited as Public Domain (P. D.), an error carried over from the very first US print. The
upper labels have the German 12" size designation "-C", which was removed for the 1957 edition.

LPM 1254-C Elvis Presley (1956/57): First edition with fully laminated, top open cover and "-C" in upper right hand box.
First order for Sweden in mid-November 1956. Possibly released in December. "LPM" = Longplay Popular Music,
"1254" is the catalog number and "-C" = 30cm (12") size. Contrary to common belief, M is not for Mono.
Vinyl records were not pressed in Stereo until 1958 so nothing but Mono existed in 1956.

LPM 1254-C Elvis Presley (December 1956): First edition with "-C" and lines the (s1) label. Note that "Just Because"
erroneously is credited as Public Domain (P. D.), an error carried over from the very first US print.

LPM 1254-C Elvis Presley (March 1957): Second edition with "-C" and lines on the (s3) label.
The Public Domain statement for "Just Because" remains uncorrected.

LPM 1254-C Elvis Presley (1958): Third to fifth editions with fully laminated cover and '-C' and lines on the label.

PX stamp from December 1958 in the upper left corner on the back of the side open cover.
